RESEARCH - ONDRACEK LAB

How are memories stored in the brain? How do neural networks change to incorporate newly learned events?

Almost everything that we understand about the neural basis of memory formation comes from
experiments that study spatial learning in rodents.

How does memory formation work in animals with other learning behaviors and with alternative neural-architectures?

We aim to resolve this issue by studying patterns of memory-related brain dynamics

during song learning in zebra finches.
